Ship Inn Beer Festival Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June
Come and join the fun!
In conjunction with CAMRA and Skinner's Brewery, and as part of Mawgan Feast Week, The Ship Inn will hold a three-day beer festival, starting on Friday, 12th June.
A celebration of Cornish ales, we plan to serve more than a dozen real ales, all priced at just £2.50.
Skinner's Brewery is kindly supporting the Festival, and from its extensive range, we shall be featuring Betty Stogs, Heligan Honey, Cornish Knocker, Ginger Tosser, Pennycomequick and Press Gang Cider.
We start the fun on FRIDAY 12th JUNE, with a 'properjob Cornish Singalong' with The Lemonaires, a 12-man choir singing Cornish classics, from 9pm onwards. Pasties from our local organic Gear Farm will be available all night, whilst early comers can, of course, enjoy dinner from our regular menu, with entertainment to follow!
The Twurzel, Cornwall's
most versatile performer
SATURDAY 13th JUNE is the culmination of the traditional Feast activities, with an afternoon of events at Mawgan Recreation Hall, including the return, after several years, of a Fancy Dress competition. Events at the Hall finish at 4pm, so why not head down to The Ship for refreshment afterwards? Those who have participated in the Fancy Dress competition will receive their first drink free - so long as they are still in fancy dress, of course!
SUNDAY 14th JUNE is a family day in the garden. Traditional Sunday lunch will be available from noon to 2.30pm. Then we hand over to Cornwall's most versatile performer, The Twurzel. Comedy, children's activities, Cornish songs, 60's and 70's music - he really has got the lot!
Singer/songwriter and
blues guitarist Tom Dale
In the evening, it's the turn of incredible blues guitarist and singer/songwriter Tom Dale. Throughout the day we'll be holding a raffle with great prizes, and in the afternoon and evening, we'll be firing up the barbie, with a Southern-themed menu.
